Thanks & Giving…

This is the month of gratitude, is it not? There is so much in this world to be thankful for, that it’s nice that a holiday reminds us to take pause and say, “thank you” for all that we are blessed with. Life is not immune to tragedy and hardship, but if we internalize the lessons that are found within those tragedies and hardships, then we can come out of it stronger. Yes…easier said than done.

One tradition that I have always included in our Thanksgiving dinner, is to go around the table and have everyone announce something that they are grateful for. It’s actually a beautiful time, because people tend to dig a little deeper and share what precious things in life they are truly thankful for.

Saying thank you is an important part of living a full life. It reminds us not to take anything for granted. So, those moments when something wonderful happens, say a little, quiet “thank you” in your mind. I guarantee you will appreciate things in a broader, more authentic way. It is also super important to be thankful for those moments for others, as well. If something amazing happens for a dear friend, or even a stranger, that is the perfect occasion to smile and be happy and thankful for them. Rooting for others is a way of sending love and gratitude out into the universe. What goes around, comes around—even beauty. Universal joy is surly beautiful. So, be beautiful this holiday season and all year round, shining with gratitude.
